ok, noted.

any time I read Muslim and Obama in the same story, I'm immediately suspect. Quite frankly, I dismiss the rest of the information.

i agree with the first sentence there, but at the same time, i don't outright dismiss everything else....i still believe there is some validity to my point (in that Barack likely recieved some money for his education, aside from hard work and loans) that is why i posted it...I wouldn't (as you asked) post something in entirely didn't believe.

what i don't entirely support is the intended point to the article (muslim ties..terrorist ties...etc)...but it does bring up a valaid (IMO) point that maybe he DID recieve money...as did GWB...which was the OP

~~~isn't Barack pretty wealthy? doesn't he have wealthy family members as well...his grandmother? .....i don't know, i thought that was what i had heard
Since he graduated from Harvard in 1991, that would have given him 9 years to pay off the loans (if you are talking about 2000)..
the problem is that Michelle claimed (in April 2008) that they had just paid off his loans....
although he had not claimed to have the loans as far back as 2000
Yes, Barack is wealthy by my standards. But his wealth largely comes from book sales. It is my understanding that he came from a middle class background.
If a writer is willing to put a flat-out lie into their story, I cannot trust anything else that has been written. It's that simple for me.
>>i still believe there is some validity to my point
There may be; I don't know. There are resources out there that you can use to help you find out. But using clearly biased and misguiding information does not help your argument at all.
I think the more kids the less they cry and the more they go with the flow of things.
i take it that you are unwilling to entertain my point here because you are suspicious of the source...
i'd rather not, but i suppose i can look around to find out if michelle really claimed that they paid the loans off in 2008...and if he did report the alleged loans up untill they were paid off.
I thought that he didn't realize a significant income from the sales untill 2005 (original sales were slow untill he made some changes)
at least it wasn't untill 2005 that he reported the income (1.2mil)
True. My take on a debate is that I support my claims with reputable information, and I expect the same of others. I'd love to have the time to research all of these things, but I just don't. And quite frankly I'm not really interested in Obama's (or any of the candidate's) student loans. I jumped into this discussion only because I object to the use of biased sources in serious debate.
Honestly, I don't know.
I just spent some time trying to track this story down (really shouldn't because I have a pile of work to finish, LOL!).
Actually, babies with Down's Syndrome ARE very content. My youngest is disabled and when he was a baby, we used to belong to a DS support group (my son does not have Down's, but at that age, he was very similar to the babies with Down's). It was the quietest baby group ever. The babies slept through the night, had to be woken up to feed and were always very happy,smiley, good babies.
I thought it was a good debate and both candidates did a good job. My husband actually watched it with me, and other than getting annoyed everytime Gov. Palin said "maverick", he enjoyed it as well. I don't think it changed many minds on either side.
