I think that Obama whipped Mccain's ass in the debate last night. He was very intelligent and together.

< on a peronsal note, i feel like mccain attepmt to appeal to emotions a little bit, with his stories and quotes and repeated mention of vets. i felt like he rambled a little bit. >

I agree. I said to my husband that McCain was dropping more names than I do when I try to get out of a traffic ticket! LOL :-D

"John is right" was taken out of context in several ways -

1) it was conciliatory - he was being balanced toward the strengths his opponent and not defensive
2) it was true - he was not trying to "spin" McCain's answers for a disingenuous advantage
3) it was the opening for a discussion of their differences - he didn't stop there say "you were right and i was wrong" or "you were tight and i was ignorant" - he elaborated on how they differed on the finer points

so if McCain wants to run an ad with that as the clips, he is only telling half the truth.

plus we could note that McCain did not concede that Obama was right about anything - making him appear both defensive and less than accurate in some cases.

Bea.

I thought overall it was good. I was a little surprised at Obama's lack of foreign policy knowledge. McCain seemed MUCH more sure of what needed to be done. Obama had a bit of a stuttering problem and seemed unsure and a bit nervous. As an undecided voter, he didn't "wow" me and made me think he is just too experienced to be Commander in Chief.

I thought both McCain and Obama did very well. Although McCain did well on Foreign Affair, but I think Obama did just as well in this area. As for the economy, Health Care and Education, Obama has better knowledge and skill to deal with these issues.
