What is the most important issue

We have a federal election in Canada next week, and I've been struggling trying to decide who I'm going to vote for. I finally sat down last night and thought "what is most important issue to me, right now?" Once I made that decision, I was able to decide pretty quickly who I'll be voting for.

So I ask you, what is the most important issue to you in this election?

I am concerned with foreign policy how the war and interacting with other nations is handled. I trust McCain completely here, not Obama.

I'm not a one issue person.. We need to fix our economy & the healthcare system but to do that we need to end the war so we aren't spending $10 billion/mo

The economy which is related to foreign policies because our domestic ones are being neglected.

It's not easy to break it down to one issue! I normally don't make my political decisions that way either (and it's worse here, we have 5 major political parties, it's a much more complicated choice!)

And of course, on the issues that are important to me, no one party agrees with my views. So I sat down and prioritized my concerns, and my number one concern (for the record, it's the economy - our situation is nowhere near as serious, however, they saw that when the US sneezes, Canada gets a cold as you are Canada's #1 trading partner) far out-weighed everything else.

Thank you all for sharing your views, I find it very enlightening to see how other voters think.

At least the troops in Iraq are in a declared war and therefore get the benefits.

Alternative energy/independence on foreign oil is my #1 voting issue.

Does that mean the US should ignore genocide?
