What Obama means by tax the wealthy
Here's a closer look at how the Democratic candidate defines well-off for different households, and what his proposals will mean for them.

Many, many, many small businesses in this country do NOT employ people.

You make over $250K/year, and you qualify for food assistance???

no no no no...based on the table rose provided, my husband's income is in the "upward bound" category.

And isn't the $250k category for a married couple? In other words, if the dh makes $125K and the dw makes $125K they are now "rich".

It's certainly above median income for most areas, so no, it's not middle or lower-middle class.

You shouldn't make such assumptions about people.

When the median income (the upper bound of that median yet) qualifies for food assistance it should give you some idea of how incredibly difficult it is for people making that income vs those making $250,000.

And did you note, that the median income even in places like San Jose and San Francisco which certainly are high end cost of living) is not much more than a great number of cities which are not.

For someone to own a lumber yard, that's probably not even close to being in the realm of "small business" that I'm talking about.
