I think a lot depends on where you live as to if your are considered "rich'(Wealthy) In my area of PA. If you are making 250,000 you are pretty well off. In California or maybe Boston or NYC, you are just average. You would need 500,000 to be wealthy in those areas. It all depends on the COL in the area you live in to determine if you are wealthy.

To me "Rich" is what ever pays my bills, and yet keeps me humble at the same time.

I live in Boston, and 250K is more than "just average", but it's not rich.

I live in a rural town in southern Indiana. $250,000 would put you head and shoulders above the crowd in terms of income.

which is one reason why Obama's tax plan doesn't make a lot of sense to me ... what is well off in one area isn't in another ... yet it's an acorss the board tax.

It's not unsual for a Boston Police officer to earn well over 100K after overtime, court time, and details.

In my opinion rich is over 500k annually. I personally know a couple whose combined annual income is a little over 100K and they live in Largo, Maryland. They aren't struggling but they are just making ends meet.
