What were the polls like?

I thought it might be fun for those who vote today to check in about the lines and how voting was going where they are.
I just heard from an east coast friend that she planned to get there right before the polls opened and found a line around the building and down the block.

Hi!
I was going to go first thing this morning, then remembered that I am *not* a morning person ;)
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Turns out I had plenty of time to drink my Starbucks. I got there 40 minutes early, not a car in sight. I enjoyed my coffee, read the paper, listened to NPR.
At about 6:50 I went inside the Vets memorial building and the door to the polling place was open so I waited inside. We had three precincts in the same room. I was the first to vote -- the poll workers told me that we have tons of polling places and precincts in CA, more than is typical for much of the nation so they didn't anticiapte much in the way of wait times.
I did it!! :0)
My parents live 3 houses away from my voting place so I went to their house and then me, my 4 kids, my mom and dad and my handicap sister all walked ( the baby and my sister rolled lol) down to the firehouse. My sister was #247, my mom was #248, Dad was #249 so that made me.... voter #250 @10am
In and out in 10 minutes for me. Missing the early morning pre-work crowd was key. Also, I agree with a PP that in California we seem to have a lot of polling places.
I've never felt THIS excited about voting before! Not only am I thrilled about my candidate, but once this is over I may be able to finally end my addiction to iVillage. LOL!
DH and I dropped Alex off at school this morning at 8:30 and went straight to vote.
I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
