I want to hear what everyone thinks will happen if the Republicans win.

Here's what I think:

We were promised a draft if we elected President Bush in 2004. Seeing as that hasn't worked out, why should we now believe it will occur under Senator McCain?

Hon, I am as far anti-Palin as you can get but even I was shocked & disappointed by that photo comparison. >.< I find the one posted after yours with JM in his flightsuit and Obama in the Kenyan garb offensive too b/c of the intent of the comparison FWIW. Obama is NOT a Muslim and much as I despise her SP is not Hitler.

I don't hate Sarah Palin. I fear what will happen if she ever gets into office.

Unlike the unjustifiable link to hatred and inappropriately to Islam in the other siggy, I think my intent is quite the opposite of hate. Like Hitler Sarah Palin instigates hate, admittedly Hitler's was toward Jews and Sarah's is toward Muslims. Hitler blamed the post WWI economic crisis on the Social Democrats of the time, Sarah blames the bailout on the Democrats.

We could dismiss the hate as every day political dirt, or we could take a closer look. I certainly hope Sarah never comes into power and if she does, it's only a possibility not a certainty that things will go horribly wrong. But we are in the position of the Germans in 1930 - in spite of the economic uncertainty and foreign threats - we need to be very clear on what we value and how to preserve it. Personal freedom? Freedom of religion? Our constitution and Democratic Republic?

The 1930's Germans were not a hate-filled mob or stupid people, they were just regular citizens exactly like you and me. The difference is the we have history behind us. We saw how the hype and hate turned out then and we need to be vigilant not to let it happen again.

Burying our heads in the sand and condoning hate is a tragedy waiting to happen. We cannot dismiss it as "only" hype because there was no violence. It was only about nine months after that Hitler assumed power that the violence began on Krystallnacht.

Obama is not a socialist, a terrorist, or a Muslim. Any attempts to call him such things can only be viewed as hatred. We cannot see it and and turn our backs. We must support Americans who are Muslims or who have tribal African or Middle Eastern or Chinese heritages. We cannot sit silently hoping it will go away on its own. We know from history that will not work.

I'll agree that Palin is not a Fascist or Nazi, but I'm not convinced she understands history either.

Believe me I fear her in the White House as well.. I just think the Hitler reference is as bad as the Terrorist reference they use against Obama.
