I posted this question in the thread about national security but it has gone unanswered -

For those supporting McCain, I often see supporters stating national security as a reason for supporting him but why? What

In another thread, someone answered this question sort of like this:

Obama's focus on diplomacy may not keep Iran or Russia in check.

you clearly have more relevant experience than i do on the subject...

why don't you / didn't you comment on the original question, with some insight on why BO's policy is better?

No I am referring to McCain. "his foreign relations/nat'l security plans are not much different from what we have now." He has not said yet what he would do differently. The subject is always changed. Ask Palin & you get some nonsense about seeing Russia & Canada from Alaska. lol Obama has said he plans on sitting down with foreign leaders. McCain sings about bombing Iran.

"in my limited experience, foreign policy deals more often with enemies and invaders than friends"

You are right, your experience is very limited.

You understand neither the meaning of the phrase "foreign policy" nor the role of diplomacy in U.S. national security.

right...as i have repeatdly said so myself... there is no need for you to talk down to me regarding my admitted lack of knowldege on the subject....

here you had an opportunity to sway an undecided voter...and you have...but probably not in the direction you had hoped. maybe a bit more tact would have helped a bit....since you are such an expert with diplomacy

My point is McCain has SAID talking to people isn't a good idea. He has SAID telling Pakistan that if they are found to be harboring Bin Laden et al and don't help us nab them then we'll be bringing in troops was a "bad idea". Since when was talking before invading a bad idea? Apparently we should just invade with no warning to Pakistan. We even warned Iraq & attempted talks with them before invading. This way of thinking frightens me. You MUST talk with someone before attacking them. Hell, he even said he won't sit down & talk to Spain.. wth has Spain ever done to us? o.O He has NOT said that we are on the wrong track in the foreign relations arena (being a bully) however. Which, judging from the way the rest of the world sees us, we most definitely are. He is against a pull-out time frame in Iraq, which even Bush finally is coming around to.

Oh please. I don't mean to be flippant but you are no more an undecided voter than I am. Anyone who had read your other posts can see that you are a McCain supporter.
