What will McCain do?
| Tue, 10-07-2008 - 10:34am |
I posted this question in the thread about national security but it has gone unanswered -
For those supporting McCain, I often see supporters stating national security as a reason for supporting him but why? What

I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure how to take your post. Are you upset with me for something? Or are you bothered by the attitude you received from the other poster? I know I for one am very thankful for your response b/c you did a wonderful job explaining what foreign policy actually means. What I meant when I said that I wasn't getting responses was that I had been hoping for responses from McCain supporters as to why they felt that McCain was a better choice for national security. I still feel like that question has not been answered.
Thanks again for all the information you provided. :-)

you were disagreed with earlier in this thread, not devoured
you may have missed in my first post on this thread where i said that i didn't have an opinion either way on the topic, and that i was responding to try to help the OP out, she was repeatedly asking for a response, so in the spirit of a nice discussion on the topic, i offered what i thoguht might be a good guess at what people (republicans) think about it....
well, everyone immediately jumped all over me, one poster was even so rude as to criticize my lack of knowledge ont he subject, which i had repeatedly admited my lack of knowledge on the topic!
i don't see that as " skip to the chase" i consider it "going for the jugular" and in my opinion, it is no way to have a useful discussion.
it is a waste of everyone's time for anyone to preach thier opinions, and not consider any one else's POV

As far as finding ALL your posts, is there a quick way to see exactly where you've posted without searching through each and every topic?
go to "advanced search" somewhere on the upper

maybe if you want me (or anyone else) to listen to what you have to say, you shouldn't preface it with a direct insult, or criticism.
i admitted to not knowing much about the topic, but i was willing to have the discussion, and play devil's advocate to have a helpul conversation.
your tactics are quite undesirable IMO, and frankly i have ignored everything you have said since.
I skim them, but i don't entertain any of your concepts, because i have NO desire to converse with someone who choses that type of discussion.
i posted to try to help the discussion, not to be insulted...i mean REALLY! i said i don't know...it was TOTALLY innapropriate to repeatedly point it out again, as if i shouldn't dare join the discussion if i wasn't an expert (EVEN THOUGH

Why have you deleted all your posts?
i deleted my posts because i wish i had never tried to have this conversation
i thought maybe we could have a discussion, we could talk pros and cons, i admitted to not knowing much on the topic, but since no one else was willing to partake in the discussion (from the republican standpoint), i attempted to play devil's advocate, and mentioned what i thgout i had seen other people saying.
several people instantly jumped all over me,, then insulted me.
not my idea of a good conversation.
and since my posts weren't really my opinion, they were just my guess at what people who care about the topic might say.....i deleted, because i don't care
in my opinion, they will both have enough help in the "foreign affairs" department, that the one person (president) won't have enough of an impact for me to spend much energy on....as a matter of fact.....that was someone's defense of Obama's lack of experience.....that he would have good staff.

I've been busy this evening, so I haven't had much time to get to new threads.
I'd rather have someone too harsh, than someone too soft.

I was thinking while I was mopping (a common place for me to think, yes, I'm odd) that if heaven forbid the stuff hits the fan, I have more faith in the US military than I do any diplomat.
