How will the death of Hugo Chavez impact the both Venezuela and the US?

Chavez controlled more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia, and that's something that keeps getting mentioned in all of the news I've seen so far.

Sadly, with his chosen successor probably winning the election, it will be more of the same for the poor people of Venezuela.

The future of Venezuela is up to the people of that country and that includes what they do with their oil reserves. They will, I hope, do what is in their best interests and for the best interests of Latin America, as a whole. Paramount here is their best interests.

All I am going to say is to offer my sincere condolences to the people of Venezuela on the loss of their elected leader. It is a sad time for Venezuela.
