The drinking age??

Debate over lowering the drinking age is heating up in several states, fueled in part by legislators who contend that men and women who are old enough to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan are responsible enough to buy alcohol legally. Legislation introduced in Kentucky, Wisconsin and South Carolina would lower the drinking age for military personnel only. A planned ballot initiative in Missouri would apply to everyone 18 and older. An initiative in the works in South Dakota would allow all 19- and 20-year-olds to buy low-alcohol beer. Vermont's legislature is considering a task force to study the issue. A Minnesota bill would allow anyone 18 and older to buy alcohol in bars or restaurants, but not in liquor stores until they're 21.

I don't think they should lower the drinking age; however, I DO think those who are underage and in the military should be allowed to drink once they show their military I.D.

When I was a kid.. it was 18 for beer and wine.. had to be 21 for anything else.

I don't really understand the reasoning for them wanting to lower it?

IMHO teens are the leading group of people that have accidents.. WHY do you want to give an 18 yr old alcohol in light of that?

Yes, this is true, but if a bartender continues to serve someone who is drunk and he ends up injuring or killing someone, then he can or will be sued. You do know that after a few DUI convictions you can be placed on "house arrest" have to wear a monitor, have to go to ARD classes, get you liscense taken away for usually 2 years, after that you get a breathelizer placed on your vehicle at the cost of 100.00
