According to many of the conservatives on this site most mainstream media is biased. I usually only use factcheck.org, politifact.com, or http://www-personal.umich.edu/~lindsecy/election08.html

As far as news shows go, Fox News is typically accepted b/c it is more conservative.

But definitely biased.

I think wikipedia is a reasonable place to find out the bias of various media sources. I don't take conservative opinion too seriously because some consider Fox the only unbiased source, ha-ha.

Fox, Drudge Report conservative

Huffington, Post Daily Kos liberal

I think just about all media are biased to some degree, and need to be both taken with a grain of salt, and cross checked.

As long as they are sticking to facts as opposed to reporting opinion, I think the Wall St. Journal and Washington Post are relatively reliable in the print media.

Drudge, is generally accurate in what is reported (since it's all links to other publications), but like the networks is biased in what he chooses to report on.

Wow.. you consider Drudge accurate? o.O You do know don't you that Drudge is the conservative version of Keith Olberman? If Keith isn't unbiased (I know he's not) neither then is Drudge.

I personally check out all the news sites including Fox which is DEFINITELY biased to the right but for fact checking I stick to Politifact & Factcheck.org, Snopes for the email rumours, and I try to away from the OPINION pages.

My list (biased & unbiased):

  • MSNBC (l)

  • Huffington Post (l)

  • Fox (r)

  • WSJ (pretty unbiased, opinion pages R)

  • CNN (u)

  • NYT (unbiased, opinion pages L)

  • National Review (r)

  • Economist (u)

I don't trust:

  • Drudge

  • Rush

  • Sun

  • Enquirer

  • Opinion pages of any side

  • anything titled Real *insert candidate's name* (my posting realjohnmccain before was to make a point) or with conservative in the title or PUMA related

I love to watch the faces of the anchors when their reporter is reporting something fairly and the anchor doesn't agree with it.
