leave it up to the states to decide on gay marriage if he truly believes homosexuality is not a choice? Isn't that blatant discrimination?~Lisa

There are other conditions people have that you could argue "is not a choice".

Like what for example? If he views homosexuality as inborn, how can he justify leaving it up to the states to give homosexuals what most consider basic human rights?~Lisa

I am trying to point out the inconsistencies in Kerry's position. To me it makes no sense to say homosexuality is not a choice and then say you don't support someone's right to have a legally reconized relationship when they couldn't control inborn characteristics, kwim?

And I said that there are other inborn traits you could make the same arguement about.

I asked you for examples of those inborn traits. Can you come up with any that compare to being homosexual? To me it should be similiar at least in Kerry's eyes to alowing states to deside on slavery, if he truly believes that homosexuality is something that cannot be "curbed" anymore than someone's skin color.

For some grandparents love for a grandchild is natural for others it isn't. I really am not sure how that is relevant to the discussion at hand.~Lisa
