Just a question - does any other promotion for a support board feel the need to take digs at an opposing viewpoint? It's one thing to promote a board, it's another to do it by insulting others. If posters don't want to debate then maybe they shouldn't post inflammatory comments on a debate board (even in the guise of a simple "promotion").

What insult? The play on words using "Right" to denote Right wing versus "right" meaning correct? Or was it that board description saying that it's a safe place to discuss topics with like minded people. My the things people get huffy about.

If people don't see that as an insult to an entire group of people, that's fine with me. If that's the kind of rhetoric that it takes to get people to join a like-minded group, okay. I'll drop it now.

No, it's not a common refrain on this board. In fact, it's come up many times, and, every time, the most common viewpoint is that people who disagree with the president and his agenda are NOT, by and large, racists. Time and again, people on this board have gone out of their way to separate legitimate dissent from true racism. I'm sorry if that's not what you've seen in real life, but, for the most part, it's absolutely true on this board. That's why I, and I'm sure others, took offense to the comment. It's misleading and insulting. Yes, saying "some" would have made it less so, but I think the point stands. It's a shameful way to bring people to your side, and it's not something typically done by a CL. Tell people what your board stands for - not why people who don't feel the same way you do are "wrong". It might by nit-picky, but it simply rubbed me the wrong way. My apologies for continuing to make it an issue, but I thought it was a cheap shot, and deserved a response.

Right and left are common terms are used by virtually everyone. Yes, it would be nice if we didn't have labels. If we were not so childish and intolerant as to say a political persuasion "stinks". Honestly, I'd be horrified if the second poster were a regular member. I'm sure she does not speak for the majority *right*?
