"Rev. Tom Pivinksi, Retired Catholic Priest, Gets Married To Partner Of 20 Years Malcolm Navias

Retired Catholic priest the Rev. Tom Pivinski and his partner of over 20 years, Malcolm Navias, celebrated a beautiful interfaith wedding on Monday at their home in Asbury Park, New Jersey. They wed on the very first day that same-sex marriage was allowed to happen in New Jersey after Governor Chris Christie dropped his appeal to overturn legalization.

Pivinski had already officiated three marriages in the wee hours of Monday morning, as couples didn't want to hesitate a minute more than they had already been waiting to finally become husband and husband or wife and wife.

He told the Ashbury Park Press (APP), "I think it's wonderful. I am just very grateful that the state has recognized the equality of all people."

What are your thoughts on him being a practicing Catholic priest AND not being celibate as well as being in a same gender relationship?

I'd wonder if he's collecting retirment/pension from the diocese. Congrats to him, His marriage is not recognized in the RCC.

He has join an  Eposcopal Church which has no problems with married priests.

Plus, it did not say when he "retired" and/or if he was sexually active when he was active in his priestly ministry. It sounds like he has left the Catholic Church. 'Retired" could be a nice way of saying "ex' priest.

So.. priests are like everyone else. They can have a change of "heart" and leave the ministry and church. It is between them and the church.

There are so many holes in that story. No, it doesn't say if he's actually retired from the diocese or not. Nor does a practicing RCC priest have a "partner" for twenty years either. How strange.
