RTA to Leslie's Namecalling

I have not name called.

<>

Mobs is the noun. Sychophantic is the adjective. Mob is not name calling; it is descriptive of a group who can accurately be termed (according to www.dictionary.com, 2nd meaning) "The mass of common people; the populace"

<
God demands we do better than that. At least in the translations I use. >>

Please explain the name-calling offense in this quote.

<>

Yet again, you are objecting to an adjective, which is NOT a name; it is a description. You may not LIKE the description, but it's not name calling.

<>

Oh, the irony is palpable. Or it would be if you hadn't been so dishonest in removing this quote from its context in which I apply YOUR perjorative (which *is* namecalling) in a manner you find objectionable. Well, whose fault is that, may I ask? YOU are the one who decided it's fair to call EVERY actor EVERYWHERE a noodlehead. I simply applied it to on of your personal Golden Boys. Too bad for you. If you object to this as namecalling, your entire behavior has been deplorable, because you are the one who coined the term in the first place AND behaved as though it were a fair name for all actors. Hoist by your own petard, Leslie; save your sanctimony on this for someone without the memory to remember who started the "noodlehead" nonsense in the first place.

<>

Children is the name; nimrod is the adjective. No name calling.

you tell me. You're the one talking about the prayerful man in the white house and the noodlehead actors in Hollywood. Shouldn't you be held to the standards you consistently demand of those of whom you disapprove? Is it not fair for us to expect you to meet the standards you set? or to comment when you fall so far short a 4 year old would notice?

You vomit your nasty invective all over this board and when you're called on it you want grace??? When have you shown any to 1) actors and actresses in Hollywood, 2) protestors, 3) anyone who has disagreed with you on the war? Why should you feel entitled to what you will not grant?

That's your response? Well, OK. You've been quite a board warrior, I'll give you that. I can't say as your methods or means have been anything to be proud of.

I say "noodlehead" about actors in Hollywood and you acuse me of "vomting nasty invective all over the board"? You have unleash a little blizzard of nasty personal attacks and name calling, er, I mean *adjectives* to the nouns that are the names.

Let me ask .... what started your fury? What exactly did I say that has unleashed this? Please be specific.

Whhhhhhhhiiiiiizzzzzzzzzzzz plop!

Pretty stale bait, Leslie; really, if I truly thought you so stupid you didn't already know what you'd said here that caused my reaction to you, you'd need a respirator to remind you to breathe.

Seriously, I don't know what has caused you to become so *personally* offended.

Do you agree that reasonable people will see things differently such as whether Michael Moore's speech was appropriate, whether the UN process was legitimate or not, whether Operation Iraqi Freedom is legitimate or not, whether Bush is acting morally or not, etc.?

Or do you think that it is impossible for reasonable people to have a different opinion than you in any of the above?

So far, the strongest specific acusation you've made against me that started your strong replies was my calling Hollywood actors noodleheads.

Sorry, I don't buy that anything I've said would have been cause for you to go into this tailspin. You're not being honest here.

Stick to debating the *subject*, not *me*, as that's what's required in debate (and how I've treated you in this discussion so far).
