May God forgive us.
This is totally disgusting. I saw this man on "The Thom Hartmann" program sometime ago and he is just a looony tune. Thom told this man that he (and his church) are literally doing what Al Quaida (spelled wrong I'm sure) would want them to do -- fan the flames of hate in America and help bring on a holy war against Islam.
There is a UU Church who is saying "If they can burn it, we can read it."
UCC not UU. But an excellent response either way.

My daughter, who is not yet 15, says that someone in that town needs to get a group together with buckets of water and put out every fire that gets lit. I said, but they would be trespassing. She replied, "Mom, haven't you heard about going to jail for justice?"
This selfish, disgusting piece of excrement is putting weapons in the hands of the Taliban, and ones which will not only anger extremists, but regular joe Muslims as well. He either hasn't given a single thought to the safety of the kids in uniform in Afghanistan and Iraq, or he doesn't care. It's deliberate provocation for more violence in an already dangerous and precarious situation.
No words have been invented yet to express my feelings about this "church" and its members. Suffice it to say, this pastor wouldn't know morals or ethics or compassion or intelligence if any one of those jumped up and bit him in the ass.

This little (50 or so) church is now in the headlines, worldwide. Remember that old saw about no such thing as bad PR?
I think that's their game. Show their hate, attract others who are likewise hateful (and their money) and make their little trumped-up church into something that "matters".
Ignorant hate-mongers, who really ought to be ignored. I wish the media could do that.
