Phoenix diocese strips St. Joseph's Hospital of Catholic status

I posted last year about a medically nessacary abortion being performed at a Catholic Hospital.
Bishop Olmsted deciced to throw his weight around and demand that the hospital submit to him and that a local hospital that is part of Catholic Healthcare West, Chandler Regional which when it joined CHW was not required (and didn't)

It is a hospital so most of it's funding is thru billing it's services. In 2009 it made 7.5 billion dollars in services, and 95.6 million in donations. So they could lose donation dollars and maybe patients who prefer to go to a Catholic hospital, but St. Joes is one of the best neurological centers so I don't think it will hit them to hard.
Oh, yeah, he sure is! I wonder what will happen with the order of nuns? And the one specifically he says "excommunicated" herself by approving of the surgery? :O Will the order of nuns be allowed to continue there? Shaking my head...

Olmsted must be one of those self-important martinets
Well the order, The Sisters of Mercy, founded the hospital in 1895. The Sister involved in it was automatically ex'd because she ok'd the procedure. It is unclear whether or not she is still apart of the Ethics board or if she resigned. If she has resigned it hasn't been announced if the order appointed someone else to take her place.
And now that I am thinking,
