This has been a rough couple of days for us -- we left for Maine thursday morning to meet my brother and one of his boys to "do Christmas" with my mom at the nursing home (she was in the nursing home getting physical therapy to make her strong enough to go back to assisted living after her last stint in the hospital) -- we got to Maine and LIza is SO good with my mom, big hugs an dkisses and cuddles -- and I have to tell you my mom is no prize right now after 3 1/2 years with Stage 4 breast cancer, she's a shell of her former self but liza was ust amazing with her. We visited and did gifts then my mom said she needed privacy to use the commode and was going to call for a nurse - we said we'd take the kids to get a bite to eat - when we came back we were told when my mom stood up she started hemmorragghing at the site of her colostmy bag and that there was a 'pool of blood' around her, she was unresponive and her pressure plummeted so they took her back to the hosptial. my brother went there, I took the kids to the hotel to wait. The next 24 hours were a blur of calls with tehh doctor -- two trips to the nursing home to get her things, two trips to the hosptial to meet with oncologists and surgeons, one trip to assisted living to consolidate her things and deal with paper work there -- and through the whole thing Liza not only was a trooper but she was AMAZINGly helpful -- carrying things, sitting patiently while we met with doctors, sitting with my mom -- she must have been so scared but she never said boo. I was so proud of her. I know I post often about her temper and her anger and her drama but man...when she has to rise to the occassion she sure can do so with flying colors...

it looks like my mom's cancer has definitely spread to her stomach , possibly her liver, they're not sure. So more tests today and now we wait... onward...

Yes. We. Did.

Well, of course Liza rocks. She is YOUR daughter, after all :)

I'm so sorry about your mom. I really wouldn't expect any less from a daughter of yours, she's learning from the best!
