I had a slight problem with my minivan this weekend (slight my rear!) that I thought might be covered by the recall that I ignored about 6 times before my power steering finally went on my minivan in holiday traffic on an off ramp.

Very good, but now I'm going to channel my mechanic-for-a-Chevy-dealer brother: "Next time, take the silly thing in when you get the recall notice and you won't have the recalled system breaking down on you in traffic!!!"

Not that *I've* ever heard that speech myself! :::whistling innocently:::

I could have forgotten about the recall altogether and laid out 500.00 out of pocket.

I also could have waited for my husband to confer with him over the best solution (which would have been to tow it to the mechanic in lieu of possibly having the dealership stick it to us), but I took a gamble on my own.
