Teacher gifts?

We're not doing gifts this year except for a few things for the boys, but it occurred to me that I should probably give something to ODS's daycare teachers.

I think that's a great idea.

I've always given a mini-stocking and/or gift bag

I think that would be great. In the past I have given daycare teachers homemade cookies that I have baked. I have also bought them gifts, earrings for one, necklace for another, etc. Nothing too expensive. I do know that many people give money (some equivalent to a week's care) but I have never done that.

That's a great idea.

My ds's class is collecting money again to get gift cards so I will contribute to that.

I usually give $10 gift certificates to Starbucks if I know they like coffee and starbucks or Barnes and Noble because I have never met a teacher who didn't want another book.

It does get expensive - I usually have 10 or so people at the school to cover.

The amount of money they ask for, IME, is for the teacher AND the assistant in the class.

And the "specials" teachers - music, art, gym, library - they aren't covered by the collection.
