Ultrasound coming up soon....

Big Ultrasound coming up in the next week or so....Do I find out the sex? My husband said he doesn't care, it's up to me. Did any of you find out with your second child? We didn't with our first....and I'm not sure if I want to know or not with baby number two.
If I could have another child, I would still find out. now that I'm more into decorating, and sewing and all, I would really want to "do up" the nursery before the baby arrived. I mean, who has time to do that after the baby arrives? For that matter, I wouldn't want to be out shopping for "sex appropriate" items after the baby arrived. :)

I'm sure there are a lot of very practical reasons for finding out, but my personal opinion is, if you're not sure you want to know, don't find out.

It is such a wonderful thing to keep wondering up until the very end if you are having a girl or a boy. Adds to the adventure. Adds to the anticipation. Makes the name game more fun. I made sure I didn't know for each of my four children and I recommend it to everyone that they don't find out. I really enjoyed finding out right after that moment of supreme effort (3 out of 4 were unmedicated, natural births) whether my new baby was a boy or a girl.
There are so few surprises, unknowns in life these days. Why get rid of one that will make you so happy?

the +s to finding out - I only had to come up with one name, which is a break since dh and I cannot agree. I really felt like I bonded with my second more than my first because he had an identity during the pregnancy. I was excited to finally meet him at the delivery.
I thought knowing who my baby was during the pregnancy was a bit more personal. My first son was referred to as he or she, or sometimes even it while I was pregnant. And it took me a good 6 months to get used to the idea that he was a boy.
the -s to finding out - My dh is one of 5 boys in his family. When we announced we were having our second son, there were a lot of people in the family telling us "too bad he takes after his dad" and "you should have a girl." That was upsetting. I suppose you wouldn't have this problem unless there is a chance someone would be disappointed in the gender.
If you are really undecided, bring a slip of paper and an envelope and have the tech write it down for you to look at later.
