I found this article interesting.

Gee... thanks

If you read my posts at all - I made a mistake.

Anyone can comment on my tv choices, but it was the flurry of attacks that really bothered me. I see talk about freedom of parenting how you feel is appropriate, freedom of opinion. Then I get stomped on for saying how I felt.

Well, c'mon. You posted a VERY controversial opinion--one that is completed unsubstantiated by ANY kind of scientific research on the matter--on a DEBATE board. Did you really think people wouldn't rebut it?

I read every single post in this thread and no one attacked you. You were not stomped for saying how you felt. You were debated on what you posted and when that upset you it was pointed out that this is a debate board so anything that you posted is up for debate. You are free to have your opinion but that goes both ways. Others stating their opinion is not attacking you, it is doing the same thing that you did, just stating their opinion. You opinion is no more important just because it was stated first.

Did I say that I thought that watching a little TV would make my DD smarter??? NO! I mentioned I let her watch a little tv, of one particular show. What has scientific research got to do with it!?!?!?!?

I totally agree that just plopping in front of a TV is extremely bad for them. I dont do that. I replied by saying I monitor what she watches, and that she doesn't watch much. So it's controversial. Big Deal.

I posted a link to the Canadian Pediatrics Society and I specifically remember reading in that article that watching tv can have positive and negative effects. And I agree with that article. So I dont let her watch much Tv at all and I plan to do all the things that article suggests to do with your kids regards to TV. (one of which is no TV in bedrooms - so there, go jump on those parents with tvs in the kids bedrooms)

Does anyone freakin read posts.

forget it, it's not worth it if you're not going to pay attention

Added comments: I'm trying to apologize here, several times, but I just can't seem to do it right obviously

"seem to like to throw around" Sheesh, she mentioned it ONCE.

In any case, there's absolutely NOTHING in that statement that suggests a 9 month old INFANT should be watching any TV at all. Nada.
