No. Don't ever feel that way. Haven't ever in all my life felt that way.
We accomplish other things.
The house is clean, yard is mowed.
DD plays outside, with her friends, and with her toys.
We read to her, she reads to us, she helps me fix supper, she plays on the trampoline, dh & I got our bikes so we bike around the block 3 or 4 times.
We go to see family, we go to services, she is involved with her ss class & youth groups.
She is now taking private dance lessons on Sat mornings followed by I just enrolled her in private gymnastic classes. I teach her piano and she has to practice that. We teach her to swim so she swims.
She loves school. Has joined the little girls program where they learn to sew, bake, etc. & earn award certificates when they have completed the units. They meet once a week before school in the morning & have breakfast together.
No. What time we spend watching tv doesn't matter. It is just part of our life, not all of it.
I don't think they are wrong. But I don't think they are right in our we live. I can't say they are wrong for others. But wrong for us, I can say.
Educated decision because I did look at the facts. I didn't not read them. After I read them, I disgreed for our dd.
We don't see it as addiction. We are talking 3 hours at night. Starting in what Nov it is dark an hour before we have tv time. We have 3+ hrs of doing other things after dd & I have been at school & dh at work.
If we were tv addicts we would skip what we do when we get home & go straight for the tube for that extra 3-31/2 hours. We'd skip what we do Sat/Sun & sit in front of the tube from daylight to dark. I'd call that addictive.
I'm sorry, but how is it an educated view when it goes against all the research and studies out there?
I think what you are seeing as *fussing* is simply an insistance by a poster that you defend your platform and back it up. Which you have never done. Saying repeatedly *this is just how we live our lives* isnt much in the way of backing up a debate stance.
Omg, how on EARTH can you compare watching a tv show about Paris to actually going there????? Living it through the tv???? What kind of statement is that? That is simply NOT possible. There is no comparison.
Perhaps not addiction but, at least, an obsession. You watch television for at least 15 hours a week and you aren't reliant upon it? It is part of your daily schedule and you proudly and educatedly (is that a word?) watch it but it isn't an addiction or an obsession? Sure.
What do you do when cable goes out or the power goes out? Sit in a corner and shake from the withdrawals?

We have a good 3-3 1/2 hours each weekday of tv time that consists of things outside of the tv. Did you miss that? Guess so.
We have a good portion of our Sat/Sun of family time that doesn't involve tv. Again, you missed that.
Sure. We live happily. Glad you are no longer clueless that people do decide to live happily the way we do.
I could care less about the marketing side.

This is average. Some are a little bit lower. Some are higher. Even much higher.

I defend my platform. TV for the family. Daily.
Why do I need to defend how we like to live? I don't.

After having 3- 3 1/2 hrs of doing other things it is a nice place to relax together.
Your last remark was rude and does not deserve a reply.
