I read through alot of the posts where women state stuff like not being comfortable with leaving their babies with "strangers" and honestly, I never felt that way. Sure there have been times I felt sad to leave my kids, sure there are days that I wished I could have stayed home (more for me because the hustle bustle of work/drop off/pick up/lunches/getting up early/cookign dinner late, etc).

No, what's sick is you LAUGHING IN TRIUMPH over the fact that her child was molested. That's sick.

I have never left my baby with anyone but my MIL, SIL, dh, or my mom. I am very warry of men. I am pretty certain by the relationships my kids have with these people nothing has ever happened. My next door neighbor has offered many a time to watch my kids if I needed to run a quick errand. He is the nicest elderly man and I would love to trust him with my kids - I am not certain with him and will probably never take him up on his offer.

I have been abused by a dc provider. Not sexually but I was whipped with a belt, and locked in a closet for a long time. I was also told my parents do not love me because they are always late picking me up. Nice, huh? Intellectually I know there are great dc's out there and I personally have had very loving babysitters take care of me and will fondly remember them. The couple of places my mom placed me really traumatized me - I have a hard time trusting others with my kids.

ETA - I think I would be fine leaving my kids at a daycare. I know I would research it to death and actually feel they would be safer at one if I could not be there to watch them. I have used a Nanny whom I did have enough trust in to watch my 3 (almost 4 yo twins). She was their Sunday School teacher and our church's youth director. She was a nanny to a 6th grader and a HS boy. She had been with them since the boy was a baby. I figured she was someone to trust.

Deleting my post in favour of serving margaritas to the board instead.

Don't look now, but metaphorically, your debate skirt is caught in your debate underpants and your debate butt is showing.
