I work for my family business and take my son to the office with me.

2 of my kids have gone to work with me. My oldest was in a playpen behind me when I worked for a rtw company that made square dance clothing. At that time, their business was in their home and I sewed in the converted garage. That worked until Joy was 6 months old and beginning the process of learning to walk.

Our 4th, Dylan, now 10, comes to work with me when there is no school but didn't as a baby. He was way to curious and adventuresome then. He didn't start coming until he was school age. My boss (and owner of the business--a bridal shop) calls him restless. When Dylan was a baby, we didn't have the dedicated kid's room that we have now. The owner's grandkids also come to work frequently. It's a real family run business. The owner's daughter and granddaughter (her son's dd) work at the shop. And the owner's 2nd ds and his wife own a commercial bakery in the same building. So all of the grandkids can be at the bridal shop especially when there is no school.

I worked with my kids nearby (I do about half my work from home) until they were too demanding of my attention to continue any longer. With DS#1 he was about eight months old. With DS#2, it was earlier -- four or five months old.

I did it, well at least until my son was about 9 months old and then he was too mobile to take him to work.
