FTR, I am pretty sure my uncle would have received an ASD dx of some kind had he gone to school today. He was kicked out of school after the 9th grade for being too odd basically. Still he has led a very successful life, even if he had his challenges along the way.

It's amazing how well some AS people managed to do in spite of not getting the type of services they do now.

Yes, I have often wondered how different my uncle's life might have been had he had some help. I too am glad that your son has services available to him. I think it can make a big difference.
