I gotta tell you -- I took liza to an endless stream of parks in her toddlerhood (mostly to escape my house) and I can count on one hand the number of times I really wanted to be there .... I

Don't forget dog food and the salt cubes from the water softener.

I hate to break it to you; but many nannies will put on a show when the parents are around...being warm and friendly.

Actually, I'm more focused on my child than eavesdropping when I'm at the park. *shrug*

HAHAHAAH...I love that story. DD said the same thing to me not too long ago because I told her she needed to take a short nap. "Ugggghhhh, MOMMMM. I wish I had gone to Alliance (name of her afterschool program) today. At least I don't have to stop doing fun stuff to nap THERE." Mean, evil Mom that I am.

Um, I don't gush over my own kid 24/7, so I certainly don't expect hired help to. IME, kids that are constantly hovered over are generally far more clingy and a lot less independent. Not to mention...bratty...

Sorry, that's just silly. Sounds like a bunch of parents with more money than sense.
