You can't really label it "if boys can than it is ok for girls".

So, which of all those things are your personal favorites?

Look, I never said cheerleading was the only kids' activity to have the potential to make inappropriate little mini-adults out of kids. But just because we can find examples everywhere, does that make it a good thing?

I'd say that if we're going to be anxious as parents, this sort of trend would be something to be anxious about, even if we don't agree that it's to be found in the activities our kids are involved in. It's a trend that's out there in one form or another and seems to be growing. I mean, what's up with the beauty pageant thing, for example?

Again, it's about exposure.

But your point hasn't been about objectification being bad in general, it has been that cheerleading is bad because it promotes objectification.

Why should girls show their belly buttons but not boys? Because it's "cuter" or something. Sounds suspicious to me. In school, the dress code is no belly buttons, no midriffs, no spaghetti straps. Why should the dress code be different when they get on the field?

I disagree, I have seen negative comment after negative comment about the sport of cheerleading.
