Actually, I've seen some pictures of 5 y/o cheerleaders on the internet that would be a sexual predator's dream. Similar to the pictures you see of 5 y/o beauty pageant contestants.

That reminds me. Our school has always had a 4th and 5th grade track meet. Great fun for the kids on the last day of school. One parent complained because it was "too competitive" and they had to cancel it. 40+ years of tradition down the drain because one little girl wouldn't have won a race. 100+ kids were disappointed because one parent was afraid of her little girl having her feelings hurt.

Oh, I don't think so.

Kids are still allowed to patronize the theatre, but must use the two entrances nearest the theatre.

This rule comes on the heels of an enormous brawl at another mall. The mall in question had a teen fight last winter that shut the mall completely down for a night. I was there the day it reopened (a weekday morning) and security was all over the place.

As I hate going to malls on weekends b/c of the teens, I am far more likely to patronize that mall on weekends now.

Yes, there are "bad malls" here, too, and they're starting to think about putting in some limited restrictions for those same reasons.

I can see both sides to this debate, but I'm trying to stay out of it. But I just had to say that I've seen 5 y/o cheerleaders who are trying too hard (IMO) to look "grown up."

When my dd was in a ballet recital a year and a half ago, all the girls except for my dd had a ton of makeup on. Sorry, but I just don't believe agree with that for a 5 y/o!

I guess the stage manager would say they need a touch of eyeshadow and lipstick to be expressive to the audience or whatever, but I went through that too during my kids' ballet years, and it was excessive IMO.

That's the second time you've mischaracterized what I referred to as prejudicial. Interesting debate tactic. That you say it doesn't make it true.

This is a problem that has everything to do with the parents and very little to do with the 5yo. I highly doubt it was the 5yo that was "trying too hard". :)

Yes, actually, that is true for the most part, but there are 5 y/o's who do try to be more mature than they are based on what they have been exposed to already.
