You: >>Even if you're right, it makes no difference if kids are in some remote way being exploited. I tried hard to find media coverage of parents who were concerned about costumes, makeup or suggestive routines in gymnastics or ballet, but no luck.<<
Me: >>So what does that say? To me, it says that some people are overly prejudicial about cheerleading. Ever seen a gymnastics floor routine?<<
It is quite obvious I was speaking of the lack of media coverage. If parents and media types are only concerned with costumes, makeup and suggestive routines with respect to cheerleading but NOT overly concerned if we're talking about gymnastics or ballet, it is not because the same things don't exist in all of those places. It is because they are prejudicial about cheerleading. If you weren't able to get that from a pretty straightforward exchange, either you didn't bother to see what I was replying to, or you were being deliberately obtuse.
The entire time I have said that it is my OPINION! that 10 year olds should not be left alone. PERIOD That would mean all children in general who are ten imo should not be left alone, becasue they imo are not mature enough period. No, I have not used the law to back up my views, I used it as my reasoning. I do not have to correct my statments, since they are not incorrect.
Please point out where I said that parent who see inappropriate things on their child's team are being prejudicial. I clearly stated twice now that what is prejudicial is seeing it in cheerleading but somehow failing to see it anywhere else, when it is present in all of those things.
I took that to mean that parents who want to complain about objectification in their kids' activities somehow just don't get it or they're seeing things that aren't there.

You told me that Iam not doing what is best for my kids but what i want and I ask you to support that view.
There are plenty of things Id rather not do but I do it becasue it is best for my kids.
I never claimed this is more than my personal view.
Obtuse?
