The post I replied to said that there are articles about it WRT cheerleading, but not gymnastics or ballet. I was addressing the reason (IMO) that there were no articles.
Anyways, I don't really judge whether something exists or not by the existance or non existance of a Google entry. With my own two eyes, I have seen just as much glitter, skin, and makeup in a gymnastics meet or a ballet recital (minors, not professionals, to be clear) as I have in a cheerleading competition. Perhaps I am odd in that I don't exactly see what the big deal is, since I have never perceived any sexualization either way. I acknowledge (and have, several times over, as have other posters) that it happens sometimes. I would not feel comfortable saying it happens often. Especially based on one article. I would venture to guess that similar to the 5yos m24g has seen, it is the parents that are mostly to blame.
Even if my sense of humor was intact, I still can't imagine what I would find funny about cheerleading scholarships or funny about someone needing one-on-one help

Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
I must have missed that post.

I really hate hearing things like that.
I'm not following why it would be different, though.

<<I think we can agree that most 5yo's aren't in much danger of sexual objectification, at least not in cheerleading.

Again, how does
