actually we are still waiting for you to explain what it is you want the schools to be responsible for teaching your kids beyond academics? as certain as you seem to be that they need to be teaching them something besides academics i would think that would be an easy question for you to answer

I dont recall saying what Iam doing is right universally for all children. Could you support this with a link where i say this? I know that the way I choose to rasie my children is not right for all children and Iam quite confident I have said this agian agian and agian. In fact I have said more than once that most parents know what is best for their children and this is stricly my personal views.

I have not made anything up. I truly think we are misunderstanding one another. Perhaps when i find the time i will go back and re read.

But to clear up this confusion. Iam raising my kids doing what i feel is best for them, my way is not best for all children.

Oh i did not know you were waiting for me to explain anything. Have you never heard of the three s's --self-determination, self-discipline and self-love-- this is a huge part imo of the schoool experience and what i expect our school to help install promote and teach while my childre are at school.

Social, independence, culture, innovation, home ec, practical theory, technical skills/vocational skills, ect ect ect
I expect much more from a school experience than academics.

Iam not claiming that it is not about competition, but imo cheerleading is about team spirit. Cheering for a team.

That is how I view the reality of being a cheerleader.

I know you disagree, but imo she has not been unclear. I did not realize anyone mischaracterized your views, even after you clarifyed, I do apologize for that, I know how frustrating that can be.

I guess Iam not reading enough of the thread to get the entire flavor.

Your right i do trust the school for academics anf many other things. I suppose i should have said I dont expect yadda yadda yadda, as to wait on the school for things to happen.

See post above. I want a school to help promote manners, proper behavior, ect ect. I dont want them to tolerate poor manners bullies violence drugs ect.

Our highschool has a vocational school to help teach technical skills. I think this is a must in a school experience.
