No you wait, you should provide the entire statement, not just parts of it to make your point.

I said..

"Imo the biggest part of cheerleading is not the competion but promoting team spirit."

I then went on to claim that I dont deny that there are squads that are soley about the competition.

But imo cheerleading defines cheering for a team, it is about team spirit.

That does not claim that cheerleading is not about competition. Since I already claimed that there are cheerleading competitions. It means imo cheerleading is to promote team spirit, to promote cheering for a team, a altheletic event, involving spectators to cheer on the team. IMO cheerleading is not defined by the cheerleading competitions.

*The pom performs at a few half times but it is about competition*

So pom poms are also abut the competition? I honestly do not know that?

"competitive cheerleading" yes, Iam familiar with the sport. IMO for the hard work and dedication these people put into this sport, It should have a different title.

I was a cheerleader for years, even into college, we went to camp and such and competed at camp but nothing like it is now in competition's. I quess I think that the competitive cheerleading needs a greater respect in the theory of the sport?
Not all cheerleaders are capapble of such determination and ability!

Fogive me if im not making to much sene Iam on my second glass of pinot grigio, it has been a great weekend. :)

I must admit as i have siad befor, I have a real problem with cheerleading for the little ones in my area and the cheerleading for the little ones is sick, they are made up dressed up and taught to dance and cheer like grown women.

My duaghter competes in gymnastics and very capable of holding herself on a cheering sqaud but becasue of the apperance and actions that is promoted for these young she want's nothing to do with it and we support her choice, even if she is a wee one. :)

I recall you saying that in your area cheerleading for the little ones if kept very respectable and innocent, I admire that. It is not like this wear we are. It is dispicable what the parent's allow these little ones to do. They grow up so fast anyway, why promote that?

I quess Iam a bit old school when it comes to raising my kid's.
