But she didn't say that. She said she wouldn't wear any of the things on your rather specific list. And neither would I. And in 44 years I never have. You didn't say "swimsuit", you said "bikini"- I've never worn anything but a one peice and never will. You didn't say "gown", you said "ball gown"- ditto. You didn't say "workout shorts", but you did say "belly shirt", another thing I've never worn but would never wear. It's unfair to put list A in a post and then assume that if somebody will never wear anything from list A )and I wouldn't either), they will therefore never wear anything from any other situational list you then make up.
I guess I'm not seeing how this relates. There are places that certain clothing is appropriate. I don't see why a belly shirt would be necessarily inappropriate at a football game, even if it would be wholly inappropriate at church.
I've been following this debate understanding your point, but here is what I don't agree with - a belly shirt is okay to wear to a football game if one is a spectator, but not if one is a cheerleader? So you don't think that guys aren't going to ogle (ha, that's a word my mom uses!) your girls b/c they are sitting in the stands? Just b/c they aren't on display in front of the crowd with all eyes on them doesn't mean they are any less sexually suggestive?
I don't care what the style is, I wouldn't let my girls wear them anywhere - performing or not. I guess I'm a prude.
So, basically, whether or not the belly shirt is allowed has little or nothing to do with whether it is appropriate or not, when speaking of cheerleaders.
