Well that's fine, but it's a little silly, because it is just your belief that none of them were.

Im curious why it is such a big deal to prove the inner circle of my parents friends may be sexual predators and why you cannot believe they are not?

other than metal detectors at schools eveything you listed are things that have always been around in one form or another, were called by something else or werent even given a cathcy name, and there was always a segment who felt they were the cause of all woes. as to prom and homecoming, where i live the are pretty much exactly what they were when i was in school - some of the things the kids do surrounding prom have changed a bit but that is not the actual event that has changed and even that is determined by where one chooses to live in some ways.

actually it is you who are so wrong it is funny, "no offense" google leaving a child alone and you will find that only two states have any laws regarding leaving a child home alone, maryland and illinois. in maryland the age is 8 and in illinois it is 14 if left alone for an extended period of time - it says nothing about leaving a child alone while mom runs to the corner to grab a gallon of milk. most states have guidelines or recommended ages which from what i can find tend to be age 12, but there are no laws because it has been determined that no two kids are alike. your 10 year old may be very unsafe being home alone at age 10 while mine could be very safe, it all depends on the child in question and the situation and place where they are being left home alone.
