I have never claimed the way I raise my kids is right for you, not once, please support this remark. It is far fetched. I have said IMO a 10 year old is not mature enough or equipped to cope being left at home alone. That is not telling you how to rasie your kids. It is my OPINION on the issue. I even said that most mothers know what is best and Iam not telling anyone what to do! I will not leave my 10 year old alone, you may your choice.
I dont raise my kids, only how I want to, but what is best for my family, there are many things I dont want to do but I do it anyway because it is best. I do it for my children.

I disagree, imo school is about much more than teaching academics. If I only wanted my childrens school experience to be about academics, I could do that myself, I would be homeschooling.

So who would be responsible for them back at the school?

This is obviously a "town" thing, LOL. We live in the country, on a rural school bus route. The kids are dropped at the end of the driveway, regardless of age or whether there is someone waitng for them. School gets out at 3:15, and the last kid on our route does not get home until close to 5pm. There is no way the driver would be returning to town!
