We were also in a very rural district when my kids were small. The bus driver radios back to the bus garage when no one is there to meet a K student. Phone calls are made at that time to alert the parent that the child will need to be picked up. The child rides the rest of the route, long routes usually, and the parent is expected to meet the bus when it arrives back at the bus garage. This is not a "town thing". Do your bus drivers return their buses when they finish their route?

What's the difference?

<<By the time you do the makeup, the skimpy costumes, and the bump-and-grind routines, it's more like a stage performance pitched to adults. I don't think swimming really compares wrt the hoochy coochy factor.>>

You must have seen totally different cheerleading styles

I remember, when Michael Landon died, seeing his dd interviewed. She made the most ridiculous comment about her dad having the writers put Mary losing her sight in the storyline because she, Landon's dd, had had a scare with her vision. Excuse me... in the books Mary went blind!! Landon's dd had obviously never even read the books!! It made me furious.

(no bunching).

Lol, I would much rather see a skirt than a wedgie! Skirt w/ spankies works very well.

There were two boys on the squad when my dd was in high school. Both of them found out how easy it was to get a college scholarship as a male cheerleader and tried out, lol.
