It's as equally absurd to talk about 5yo girls and the DCC in the same breath.

Well, to me there's a difference between fine art and pop music.

I have to jump in here. As a former cheerleader, I never (or any girls on my squads)

I didn't say there wasn't a difference. There is and stated as much. Different doesn't mean better.

But, if you want to go down that road ... Pavarotti is a singer. Does he compose? Does he play instruments? Does he write lyrics? No, no, and no. That's why you can't compare P to BJ. Not because P is better, but because you're comparing apples to oranges.

I know my kids' bus driver stores the bus at her farm, about 4 miles from us; she does not return to town. Most of the school busses are independant contractors to the school division (*not* employees); there is no central bussing centre.

Even in this day and age, there are lots of people that don't have cell phones. What happens if the parent is not contacted? Who waits with the child back at the school? It is dark by 5pm in the winter here, and there are rarely teachers around the school that late.

To be fair, a couple of different posters have commented on what they considered inappropriateness they saw in cheerleading for girls.

I agree it's apples to oranges, which is why I objected to talk of ballet in the context of cheerleading to begin with.

How did you think of professional cheerleading squads in relation to what you thought of as cheerleading?

No, I haven't. I don't see why it matters.
