Since we've been talking about homemaking, I'm curious . . .

Nope, not in the slightest.

I'm a domestic goddess. But I'm also a slacker mom. Is that possible? lol

1. Do you enjoy cooking? -- I LURVE to cook.

What are your favorite things to cook? -- all sorts of things. New, different things. Exotic-ish thing. this week I'm doing a stuffed squid in tomato sauce.

Do you enjoy baking? -- no.

Ever give home-baked goods as presents? -- Yes. I give homemade salami every year at christmas. I've done other things too.

Do you can, freeze or otherwise preserve stuff? If so, what? -- Nope.

2. Do you craft? -- No, ick.

Sew? -- Yes, but not for more than hems and alterations lately. I used to make quite a bit of my own clothes and have made scores of Halloween costumes.

Scrapbook? Knit? Crochet? Quilt? Needlepoint? -- ick, ick, ick, ick, ick

3. Do you garden? -- I HAVE a garden. I wouldn't say I GARDEN though.

Fruits? -- nope

Vegetables? -- I have tomatoes, okra, peppers, squash, eggplant, basil, sage, parsley and chives.

Flowers? -- I have 15-18 rosebushes, tons of lilies, etc. But only because I inherited them when I bought the property.

4. Do you interior decorate? -- As much as necessary. I sanded and repainted two dressers this weekend (mine and dh's). I'm much more into art as decoration than matchy-matchy decor.

5. Anything else that makes you a domestic goddess? -- my prowess in the bedroom. ;)

1. I don't particularly enjoy cooking, but I am a competent cook. I'd rather bake. Around the holidays I do bring cookies and cakes as hostess gifts a lot but not as "the" gift to friends. I have canned tomatoes in the past, and made my own grape jelly and juice. Not this year. The grapes got trashed with a late freeze.

2. I don't really "craft" but I do things like make props for sets for school and church plays, or paint flowerpots, stuff like that. This summer I made about six big paper mache boulders. I do sew, scrapbook, occasionally knit and crochet. Never tried needlepoint.

3. We have a small garden, veggies and flowers.

4. I do some "decorating" if you count constantly framing stuff, rearranging displays seasonally, stuff like that.

I used to really like to cook but making 80 breakfasts and 400 lunches kind of burned me out. I have not worked in that job since 1998 and have only recently started to enjoy cooking. Due to DH's dietary restrictions I have to make most of our food from scratch. I freeze but not for long term, just cook big batches and freeze extra (I think right now in my freezer I have three containers of spaghetti sause, two of pinto beans and one of black beans). Not real big on baking especially when it is hot (which it usually is here).

2. Do you craft? Sew? Scrapbook? Knit? Crochet? Quilt? Needlepoint?

I used to cross stitch but it is getting hard to do as my eyes age.

3. Do you garden? Fruits? Vegetables? Flowers?

No, I spent two much time having to spend time in the garden as a child to find it a fun thing.

4. Do you interior decorate?

The basics. I am pretty much a minimilist (sp?). I am not into a lot of stuff so my walls are pretty bare compared to many people.

I HATE this stuff. I cook as little as I have to, I avoid anything that smacks of anything cute, crafty, country or kitschy, I hate to sew (althoguh I worked 3 years on the costume department in college) and I hate to decorate . I have my friends help me pick out colors for my walls and I paint but after that I sort of fall apart. I'd rather read.... ;-)

Liza's soon to be stepmother bascially stepped right out of the martha stewart magazine so i figure "great!" she can teach Liza all that stuff and i'm off the hook!

1. Do you enjoy cooking? What are your favorite things to cook? Do you enjoy baking? Ever give home-baked goods as presents? Do you can, freeze or otherwise preserve stuff? If so, what? I cook because I have to if dh isn't home to do it. I used to make bread. I enjoyed that but gave it up for my ah business. I give bread as our exchange presents at my mom's every Christmas Eve. It's part of our Christmas traditions.

2. Do you craft? Sew? Scrapbook? Knit? Crochet? Quilt? Needlepoint? You're kidding, right? :) I sew, crochet, some quilting and home dec sewing. I can knit but don't really put any time into it.

3. Do you garden? Fruits? Vegetables? Flowers? Nope, that's dh's area.

4. Do you interior decorate? Sort of; I have a 5-year plan that Erica helped me work out.

5. Anything else that makes you a domestic goddess? Does reading count?

I hate cooking for two. I LOVE to cook for a crowd!

I like to cook just about anything. I like trying new recipes and using old ones. I like experimenting with spices and fresh herbs, etc. My dd's SO is Japanese-American and cooks. I wish we lived closer so I could learn to cook some dishes that he makes.

I LOVE to bake. Anything and everything. Baking is a favorite past time. Except pie crusts. Can't make one to save my life. LOL

I used to give nothing but home-baked and home-made gifts. I still give jams and jellies.

I think I've canned, frozen, and preserved just about everything. LOL Staples every year were Italian stewed tomatoes (about 150 quarts to last out the year), green beans (about 100 quarts a year), pears, peaches, pickles of all sorts but mostly dill, applesauce, apple pie filling, pumpkin pie filling, a variety of syrups, stew, soups and whatever else I could get my hands on went into jars. One of the things I was most proud of one year was having preserved everything but the turkey that we had for Thanksgiving dinner.

2. Do you craft? Sew? Scrapbook? Knit? Crochet? Quilt? Needlepoint?

My favorite is cross-stitching. A couple of years ago I broke my little finger badly, had to have it reset, and it didn't take. My finger is crooked. I can't use small pens or regular pencils anymore. I lost my beautiful handwriting skills and calligraphy skills. It has made it painful for me to crochet and knit. Cross-stitching sometimes hurts, but I just take it slow.

Sew, only most of my wardrobe until I met my dh and married him 7 years ago. Definitely all of my clothes throughout school unless I saved up my own money to buy something. My first store-bought coat was when I was 12yo and starting junior high. My mom spent a lot of money we didn't have to buy me that coat. It was the coat I had dreamed of having for several years. I was so proud of it. :) I sewed my formals for dances or wouldn't have had one in high school. I sewed my wedding dress for my first wedding. I sewed a good portion of my kid's clothes when they were growing up. I had a tradition of making new PJs for each of the kids, and that was the gift they got to open on Christmas Eve. Now, the tradition continues as for the last three years, I have made PJs for each of the grandkids for Christmas.

3. Do you garden? Fruits? Vegetables? Flowers?

I love to garden. When I was growing up, we had a farm. (Yes, I did the 5AM milking for many years before school.) We had about 1/2 an acre of garden. We raised our own beef, chickens, and hogs. We never had flowers, though.

I have never had a place that I could do much of an in-ground garden. The house that dh and I owned was mostly shade. What wasn't shade was outside the fence with too many deer to grow anything that they wouldn't eat. I now do a lot of container gardening, flowers and vegetables.

4. Do you interior decorate?

Some. It's not a great interest, but I certainly like having a nice home.

GREAT QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!
