That's a question that was asked in the 2013 iVillage Career Week Survey.  You can see the results at this link:

I found the following results a bit surprising, I wouldn't have thought that pay would rank so much lower than other factors:

--What makes women happy at work

69% like what they do

51% location/easy commute

48% flexible work hours

47% like their colleagues

38% like my boss

36% pays well

34% benefits

28% stress free & easy

22% opportunity for advancement

Do do your own priorites match the survey results?

Yes, I like what I do.  I have an easy commute, flexible work hours, like my coworkers, like my boss, pays well with good benefits but it is not stress free and no room for advancement so to speak but I receive more responsiblites each year.

I would have to say yes.

While I don't get paid a ton of money and at the moment not much advancement, I enjoy what I do, am close to home and schools, can have time off very easily and can come in late, leave early, 1/2 hours, etc without a hassle. I am also top senority (even to my boss) so I can get whatever time I want first. I enjoy the people I work with and have worked with most of them many years (including boss who was not my boss when first starting the job many years ago). Good benefits all around and getting better with more opportunities arising every day. Stress free to a point, much better than it was years ago.
