Your thoughts? Do you ever wonder whether the reason why the debates always turn into much-too-literal conversations about things like lasagna is because there isn't really anything substantive to debate about SAH vs WOH?

The insecurity she talked about is not about SAH vs WOH, it is about wondering if you are a good enough parent, trying to figure out how you should parent etc. It is pretty normal and probably a good thing as long as it does not get out of hand. The alternative would be someone who had absolutely no doubts about how to raise her kid, and someone who never questions her own parenting. I hope there aren't too many parents like that.

Lots of people seem quite keen to live in Germany. There are tons of immigrants there. What kind of comment is that anyway?

Most German and Swiss housewives would consider you to be an amateur, at a mere 10 years at home.

And there are millions and millions of Americans who can't afford to buy a house, a boat or 'toys'. You may have missed the fact that we're in the middle of the worst economic conditions since the Great Depression.

I'd live in Germany in a heartbeat. It's a lovely country. It's just a bit far of a drive everyday to DC.

"Who wants to live in Germany for Gosh's sakes? Get real!"

A few million people.

Exactly how much experience do you have living in another country?

Yeah, are we supposed to feel guilty for leaving our kids with other people? I didn't get the memo that I was supposed to have my kidlets with me 24/7.

Try not to let it get you down. You will be ok. She might not be though...since you know, you dont spend every moment with her.
