Whether you stay at home or work outside the home, would you change your status if you could? Is working from home the best of both worlds?

I wouldn't change my status. I WOH full time. I really enjoy my job and my coworkers. It's not the most flexible or best paying job, but it's not bad either. I have to work, but I would choose to even if I didn't have to.

As far as WAH goes, I have WAH on a very PT basis for the last 3 years. It's not something I would want to do FT, and until government sponsored health insurance becomes a reality it wouldn't really be an option for me anyway (since I'm one of those lucky people who is uninsurable outside of a group policy). Working with my kid around isn't a problem. I think NOT having her around is. Ever since she went to live with her dad I have felt no motivation to do any work. I have a decent number of pieces that haven't sold yet, and I do the bare minimum to keep up on my website so I can sell them. But I haven't done any new pieces, save three special orders, since last fall. For a while it was because I had no time. Now I have time, but it just holds no appeal for me. I have a large special order I need to finish and I'm just dreading it. I can't imagine if I had to make my entire living AH. I'd starve. lol

I'm an introvert by nature. My best day at the bridal shop is when I get to sew in the back room without any fittings. One of the things that keeping the bridal alterations job does is getting me out of the house and interacting with more than just my family.

I agree with you and I supervise kids in the pool on a constant basis in the summer, it's not hard to do really...we just got wireless, I will have to see if it reaches down to the pool.

Ditto. No way could I make that work. I can barely keep a straight thought in my head if dd is around, and she is almost 16.

I think it really depends on your kids' ages and personalities (also what kind of work you're trying to get done and how much distraction you can tolerate).
