On a debate team, one has to be prepared to debate *either* side of a specified subject area.

So, what points from the "other side" do think have merit. Are there any points that you haven't seen that you think would be hard to counter?

But she said she could get a job that would make enough, with savings and unemployment, to pay the bills. They could also have lower expenses and more savings than you have.

Being prepred for a divorce is the least of my worries.

If there is only one working spouse and they lose their job, the unemployment and savings would have to cover 100%.

I don't think people are "setting up a dynamic" for divorce by having both spouses work outside of the home.

Good, then we agree.

Just like I would teach my son about taking care of a family (financially), I would teach my daughter.

Again, we agree.

Are you suggesting that the only people bordwithyou knows are professors? Because that's a really odd assumption to make--about anyone. I mean, not everyone I know is a typesetter. Not everyone my kid knows is a network admin. Not everyone my sister knows teaches special ed. Not everyone my cousin knows is a pilot for the Air Force.

So why would the only people bordwithyou know, who might have been laid off, be professors?
