"According to the Census Bureau figures for 2004 — which are the most recent — there are 36.7 million mothers of minor children in the United States. About one-third of them, 10.8 million, are stay-at-home moms.
According to an article penned by Al Neuharth, the founder of USA Today, in its May 11, 2006, edition, “Salary.com compensation experts estimate that stay-at-home moms work an average of 91.6 hours a week.” That's more than double the number of hours the average office worker puts in. He went on to say, “That should be worth $134,121 annually.”
He quoted the compensation analysts as figuring the lowest-paying parts of a mother's job are “housekeeper, laundry machine operator and janitor. Higher-paying categories include computer operator, facilities manager, psychologist and CEO.” With a 91.6-hour work week, 52 weeks a year, it works out to be $28.16 an hour."

I agree with you.
Even for a financial planner...I would want someone who looked like they invested their money wisely...an SUV?? not so much, but if he was driving a hybrid, that was brand new, or a diesal, and mentioned that it ran on biodiesal, I would be very impressed. Or even a mini cooper, from BMW. I love small cars!
I agree with you though, you want someone who looks the part but doesn't necessarily looks like a show off. I think BMWs are like that, and middle range suits, not the guccis necissarily.
Not at our neigborhood public schools.
YOu can take things like ESL classes at community college. That's the closest thing I can think of.
Like I said, in Texas, our education system is not very progressive.
Well most I know tend to dress rather nice. I've never met one dressed in flip flops and walmart's finest. but then again I usually see them when they are at work, on business trips or at parties....so maybe when they're out in their multi million dollar back yard they're wearing walmart....but I doubt it.
You are assuming that he can't afford the suv. Maybe to him it's not expensive. I'm sure a 50,000 suv might seem expensive to you....but do you think someone like George Bush would consider that expensive?
As for smaller suv's....maybe he bought his because of safety ratings. Some of those little suv's have terrible safety records. Maybe he has a bunch of children. Maybe he owns a boat. Maybe he pulls a horse trailer. That's why we have a larger sized suv.
I don't know about should or "have to"....most just do. Simple fact you are judged by what you wear, what you drive etc. I'm not saying it's right...but it's life. It's also a fact that attractive people tend to make more money and advance farther in life.
So knowing all that, if you were in a position of importance how would you dress?
