Digestive problems can make eating an unpleasant activity and cause unhappy associations with food. I don't find it odd at all that somebody with digestive problems would be thin. My BIL is thin and has been all his life because digestive problems made eating into an unpleasant activity he avoids as much as possible. He also had those problems since infancy, which is also not uncommon. In short, there is nothing odd about somebody being thin, young and having digestive problems. My BIL is markedly thinner than everybody else in photos taken of him at age 20.
Q: "what do you call somebody who graduated last in his class in med school?"
A: "you call him 'doctor'"
My brother got his first Chrohn's attack at age 19. My BIL had digestive problems since infancy. This stuff actually was covered in med school for those who weren't skipping class.

Like the old joke says:

I don't buy that stuff. It's no different to me than buying a snickers bar. Same thing with "juice".
I'm sorry I offended you.
It does bloat you alot.
Maybe you're right- and suffering from it
