yum.

after Liza's chorus concert we went out for ice cream with 5 other families from the school -- took over the local burger/ice cream joint -- all the kids at one table all the parents at another -- what a blast. My treat is ALWAYS cookie dough ice cream!

I love my family of friends from Liza's school - it's a great mix of working moms, SAHMs, WAHMs and dads and step parents and grandparents -- it's so nice to ahve such a close community of friends among the parents and family of her school mates.

That's what I was thinking too. Besides, we usually eat our main meal right after school, around 3PM. So, the evening meal can sort of be whenever and whatever.

Plus when it's just me and the girl we can keep it simple -- sometimes we eat differnt things but we sit and eat together! I might have a quck chicken caesar salad and she might have a veggie burger or a chicken burger and edmames -- (she is an edamame junkie i swear -- that's what she brings for lunch at camp whenall her friends have lunchables or PB and Fluff -- she wants edamame beans and yogurt LOL )

I'm never gone all day. Not even "ALL DAY". Perhaps you should try the snark on someone to whom it might actually apply.

Sorry to hear that things are not doing considering people's work schedules in your area. I guess in some places they are not up to the times that many families have both parents working and that some have commutes and can't get to these things early-shrug.
