<<Sorry to hear that things are not doing considering people's work schedules in your area. I guess in some places they are not up to the times that many families have both parents working and that some have commutes and can't get to these things early-shrug. >>

See we used to eat at 5:00 everyday so that doesn't seem early for me. I get home a little after 5:00 and if my dh is home, he will cook and we will eat around that time. We only eat later if we eat later lunch in the day. My kids like and need

All of our after-school things start at 7 or 7:30. They try and accomodate that all parents are able to attend as many like myself do not work 5 minutes away.

No, you might not be able to accomodate ALL parents but if you start later, there is more of a chance to being able to accomodate more of them. When I was younger and there was more sahm's, scouts were right after school. Now they all start 6pm and on. Things have changed with the times.

Other than when I've made french toast, I can't think of a single time in recent (and farther back) memory that I've made breakfast for ANY of my chldren.

The only thing I've had to do is use the large serrated knife to slice the bagel -- and the only one who isn't allowed to use it is sd.

Ds and dd will frequently make scrambled eggs.
