We don't watch much TV at all in our family. We just don't have the time or desire.
However, I disagree that watching the evening news does not constitute family time. One of my fondest memories as a kid is sitting down with my dad, as well as the rest of my family, to watch Walter Cronkite on the CBS Evening News. We would discuss the things we saw on the news as a family. I think that's where my interest in current events and politics started. I heard recently that Walter Cronkite is very ill and it saddened me b/c he was such a part of our daily lives when I was growing up. I know the news has not been the same for my father since he retired.
TV isn't a big staple here in that we have to have it on but i can't imagine why QT couldn't be had having it on either.
