Your "understanding" seems to be unique to the rest of the people in the thread.

I've got no problem with the teachers in my children's school. Some are definitely better than others, some communicate better than others, some are more accessible than others. I like having the convenience of multiple types of media as well as face-to-face visits to know what the children are up to in class. My school volunteer work has been to help upgrade the web presence and social networking tools that the teachers have at their disposal.

There should NOT be an assumption that you would be "friendlier" with parents from a private school because they MIGHT be a smaller class. As I have stated IME with my dd's class, I know most of the parents because they have all gone to school together for 6 years.

It didn't start out as an assumption.

Personally, I'd think that freedom from the liability issues that could be connected to parents transporting students in their private cars would be well worth the price of chartering a bus.

I didn't realize I needed the sanction of a Yuky board or something before I could post.

No wonder you don't like paid work.

I would rather have a bus take my children than individual parents. Unfortunately we have to pay now for the buses, to me it is a safer situation and many cases the parents can go on the buses also.
